Amelia S. Baker, owner, Green Alternatives
“Breast cancer has greatly affected my life and has taken friends and family members which make participating in worthy causes like the Bra Art project that much more important. I’m always ready to help get the message out about breast cancer prevention, awareness & research. It’s an honor to be part of the Bra Art! “

“Many families have witnessed the suffering of cancer victims and experienced the emptiness that remains if their battle is lost. I love the lighthearted approach of this event and the fact that we don’t have to walk or run!
Raw bra is about healthy diet and ‘eat dessert first’ (my sister Chris’ last quote to her family). She would have embraced the Bra Art project. We would have spent many hours designing bras together but her 10-year fight was lost last year. Her ceramic platter and sense of humor is incorporated into the piece.”
This bra can be viewed at the Artists on Santa Fe Gallery throughout the month of October.
Kathy Beck, interior designer, Business Interiors by Staples
“I was asked by a friend if I would like to participate in Bra Art. I have participated in the ‘Mask Project’ a couple of times and enjoyed creating the masks. This is a worthwhile cause and I had fun doing the project. I wish the Bra Art project much success!”

Shane Bowers, student
“I decided to participate because my girlfriend, her mom and her best friend were doing it, and I thought it would be a fun project for a good cause. I named the bra ‘The Luck of the Irish’ because my girlfriend has Irish in her and now breast cancer has the luck of the Irish to help find a cure.”
This bra can be viewed at The Market Creation Group Gallery throughout the month of October.
Christine Chang, 7NEWS morning anchor
“As an anchor/reporter for 7NEWS, I do a lot of health stories. I’ve met so many wonderful, courageous breast cancer survivors along the way. I’m always amazed at how willing these women are to come forward and share their stories with me and our viewers. This is my small way of giving back to say ‘thank you’. ”
